About Our Products
What is grass-fed tallow?
Grassfed tallow is rendered fat from cattle that have been raised on pasture and fed a natural grass diet. It's rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K, and closely mimics the natural oils in human skin, making it an excellent moisturizer.
Why use tallow in skincare?
Tallow has been used for centuries as a natural moisturizer. It's deeply nourishing, non-comedogenic (won't clog pores), and contains nutrients that support healthy skin. Unlike many modern skincare products, it's completely natural and free from synthetic ingredients.
Are your products suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes! Our products are made with simple, natural ingredients and are gentle enough for most skin types, including sensitive skin. However, we always recommend doing a patch test first if you have concerns.
Are your products vegan?
No, our products contain grass-fed tallow, which is an animal-derived ingredient. We focus on natural, traditional ingredients that have been used for generations.
Do your products contain any synthetic ingredients?
No. We use only natural ingredients including grassfed tallow, essential oils, and botanical extracts. No parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, or artificial preservatives.
Ordering & Shipping
How long does shipping take?
Standard shipping within New Zealand takes 3-5 business days. Express shipping is available for 1-2 business day delivery. Orders are processed within 1-2 business days.
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes! We offer free standard shipping on all orders over NZ$50.
Do you ship internationally?
Currently, we ship within New Zealand only. For international orders, please contact us directly and we'll do our best to accommodate your request.
How can I track my order?
Once your order ships, you'll receive a tracking number via email. You can use this to track your package through our courier's website.
Returns & Refunds
What is your return policy?
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on unused products. If you're not satisfied, you can return products in their original packaging for a full refund. See our Refund Policy for full details.
What if my product arrives damaged?
If your product arrives damaged, please contact us immediately with photos. We'll send a replacement or issue a full refund at no cost to you.
Product Use & Storage
How should I store my products?
Store your Prairie Pure products in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Tallow-based products can soften in warm temperatures but will firm up again when cooled.
How long do your products last?
Our products typically have a shelf life of 12-18 months when stored properly. We recommend using them within 6 months of opening for best results.
How do I use tallow soap?
Use our tallow soaps just like any other bar soap. Wet the bar, lather in your hands or directly on your skin, and rinse thoroughly. Store in a dry soap dish between uses to extend the life of the bar.

No, we never test our products on animals. We are committed to ethical, cruelty-free skincare.
